Born 1945 in the Lincolnshire Market Town of Grantham, I grew up fully immersed in country life.   Although I knew that I wanted to be an artist from an early age, it was not until early retirement that I was able to devote all my time and energy to painting.

My passion for the horse and equestrian art developed as a result of my daughter’s love of ponies.   I became owner and stable girl of Faye’s show ponies and our active involvement in UK pony and horse events  resulted in many equestrian commissions.  I am an Associate Member of the Society of Equestrian Artists.

Moving in 1997 to live beside the sea in the Charente Maritime Department of France, I have taken great inspiration from the Atlantic scenery and the superb natural light of the Côte de Beauté region.   This has encouraged me to develop a more bold and at times more abstract style, using vivid colour and a wide range of media.

My impressions in pastel of local beach scenes and “les grandes vacances” have proved to be very popular and are a reminder of summer in many homes in Paris and Bordeaux.

I am delighted to be able to hold solo exhibitions in France, to exhibit with the Society of Equestrian Artists in London, at such venues as Christie’s, the Mall Gallery and the Art Connoisseur Gallery, and also at Gallery Tresco in the Scilly Isles.  It also gives me great pleasure to know that my works are included in many private collections across Europe and North America.
