Recent ill health has prompted me to review my priorities. I have resolved to spend more time visiting children and grandchildren in the UK and USA which means I have less time and energy to prepare for annual solo exhibitions.           I shall, however, take every opportunity to paint and to join in group exhibitions in France and the UK.

Each week this winter I have been sketching and painting with a friend “en plein air” in watercolour which always results in a stimulating exchange of ideas.   When the weather is too bad I  retreat to my studio and explore and experiment with the different techniques of painting with pastel, acrylic and watercolour.

I shall soon be packing my bag, watercolour box and sketch book for a weeks painting holiday on Tresco, Isles of Scilly.   This should give me plenty of inspiration to develop works in the studio.

In the summer I shall spend a month in California with grandson Callum and my paints and sketchbook will  again be in my case.

I continue to welcome friends, present and future, to my studio/gallery in the Charente Maritime.
